"... He is not here; He is Risen!"

Listen to this.
This is the Christ"
Lyrics written by President James E. Faust.

They heard His voice, a voice so mild;
It pierced them through and made their souls to quake;
They saw Him come, a man in white,
The Savior who had suffered for their sake.

They felt the wounds in hands and side,
And each could testify; This is the Christ;

This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,
Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.
This is the Christ, the healer of our souls
Who ransomed us with love divine.

I read His words, the words He prayed
While bearing sorrow in Gethsemane;
I feel His love, the price He paid.
How many drops of blood were spilled for me?

With saints of old in joyful cry
I too can testify; This is the Christ;

This is the Christ, the holy Son of God,
Our Savior, Lord, Redeemer of mankind.
This is the Christ, the healer of our souls
Who ransomed us with purest love divine!

A very sad sad day....

Today I am mourning my own stupidity... I am very, very sad.
I went back on the Wicked website to see if tickets were on sale yet... I read it wrong the first time. I got myself and my husband all excited for the last couple of weeks only to find that Wicked isn't coming to Vegas until ... August... 2012... anyone have a tissue? :(
Untill then Wicked....

A very sad sad Kassi
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??
(Isn't my husband sooo lucky to have such an over-dramatized wife like me? Makes for much entertainment Im sure...)

Easter

Well it is almost Easter. I find it really strange to have it at the end of April instead of around conference time. Even so I want to really take the time this year to remember what Easter is really about. As something simple for me to see everyday I printed off this little gem from Lady Bird Lane.
I thought it was a beautiful reminder of the Sacrifice Jesus Christ made for all of us. I hope that we don't forget to take the time to remember and ponder the resurrection of our Savior and Redeemer who died for us and lives again.

Conference

We enjoyed another wonderful General Conference and my birthday weekend in one. That is definitely my favorite time of year. I get to be spiritually fed... and then I get to be fed! Seriously though. I love Conference. It is always so great to be able to sit and listen to our living Prophet and the apostles twice a year and it is definitly my favorite way to start off the Springtime. I always feel so uplifted like it is a new beginning. Spring starts to arrive with all of the lush greenery and the flowers around the conference center. I get to celebrate another year of life after being spiritually fed like a send off into the next year. May sound cheesy but I couldn't ask for a better month to be born in. (Even if it snows after a beautiful 60 degree conference weekend). Don't you just love spring time!?
Well, for my birthday this year Josh and his family took me to Shoga which is a little Japanese sushi bar that I had been wanting to try. It was reeaaaaallly good! I always enjoy trying out a new place but we definitly hit are eating out budget for the month on that one meal. Oops. Oh well! It was worth it!
With the birthday money I received this year, some gift-cards we have saved since Christmas, and our yearly dividend from R.E.I. I was able to purchase the last item on my backpacking gear check-list. My therm-a-rest ProLite Plus sleeping pad! Wahoooo!
It only weighs 24 oz and packs up to 4.8 x 11 inches. Pretty sweet if you ask me and boy does it make a difference. It is super cozy and fits inside my sleeping bag. I love camping but now I can enjoy it that much more this year. I am soooo itching to get out and use it. If the snow in the mountains would melt already! Ok, ok! I know its only April and the weather here is just as unpredictable as Alberta. I'll give it one more month. But just one. Anyways, you can bet that I set up my sleeping pad and gear in the living room and watched T.V wrapped up in it. Yup! Sure did! That is just how Josh and I are. I think its really cute when Josh buys new gear and packs it all up in his pack and carries it around the house like a new toy. It really is fun buying new gear! REI is our candy store! Thank you Mom, Craig, Dad, Sally, Mom and Dad Nelson and Grandma and Grandpa Oviatt!

Josh's gift to me this year is going to be combined with our anniversary gift to each other. In August we are going to drive to Vegas to see... WICKED! This will be our first time to Wicked and my first time to Vegas. We are so excited! I have been wanting to see this broadway for almost five years now. I've listen to the soundtrack a thousand times over and have performed the music in my high school choir. Now we will FINALLY get to see it live. Of course our trip wouldn't be complete if we didn't save up for a little shopping spree at H&M! So that is our exciting trip we are anticipating and saving for in August. (That and a couple of other things I will mention around June 16th. No I am not pregnant.)

Long time no see!

Well I took a nice little break from the blogging world again, I guess you could say I'm back!
Its been a busy couple of months but here is what we've been up to.

Mom, Dani and Haylen finally came to visit. Dani had never been to or seen my apartment so it was fun and exciting for me to have her here to hang out. Josh and I made her and Haylen dinner which was a lot of fun since we don't cook for guests often. It is even more enjoyable when you are cooking for family. Haylen is getting so big and it is so cute to watch him learn and explore now that he can walk... and get into things haha. Right Dani? (Apparently Haylen has a new fetish for red lipstick). We also finally got to take some of my family to the infamou Red Iguana! Uncle Kyle, Aunt Julie and boys, plus Josh's parents, Dani and Haylen all came out with us. I think they might have liked it just a little bit because mom has only mentioned going back about a hundred times haha. Seriously! Best. Food. Ever. I can't wait to go back with her again when she brings Craig and Colton down this weekend! Can't wait to you see you guys!!

I was having so much fun with them I hardly took any pictures :(
