Congress corrects President Obama
Not much media coverage on this...
This is an actual letter sponsored by Michelle Bachmann and others in Congress.
Since the contents of the letter and what it represents are not getting any national media coverage, it is good to know that the letter is now and forever part of the public record, for future generations to read.
Read letter: Michelle Bachman Letter to President Obama (See attachment)

This is why I don't watch the news.

And I could not agree more. Read this. Posted on Or so She Says blog: Common sense, kindness, and human vultures! I love it.

2010 Year in Review

Wow has it ever been a long time since I updated my blog. Sorry about that! We recently lost our internet, or more accurately the people with the internet we were mooching off of moved. Ha! (Shhhh!) Anyways, we have some internet but it is verrrrry slow. Depending on the time of day its almost uh...not slow. Either way I wouldn't have the patience to try using blogger with that snail so I will try to update it as often as I can on my in-laws computer. Hopefully we will get going with our own sometime soon.

2011 can you believe that? This year has really flown by for me. Here are some of our highlights and low-lights (??) of 2010!!

1.) We spent our Engagement anniversary (December 31st) skiing at Brighton ski resort and kicked off the New Year with Joshes family.
2.) Josh turned 27 and is one step closer to being an old fart (in his mind).
3.) Kassi became and Auntie for the first time and couldn't be happier about it.
4.) Kassi turned 21 and became an official adult (?). She even got to turn her license the other way. She feels all adult like now.
5.) We hit our 2 year anniversary in May.
6.) Kassi got to see the Utah Arches for the first time.
7.)We added to our collection of gear and bought brand new saweeeeet backpacking packs and got to use them for the first time.
8.) Kassi spent the summer watching two different birds nests and enjoyed every second. (Robbins nest at Joshes parents house and a Humming bird nest outside our bedroom window). This truly was a highlight for her.
9.) Kassi got to meet Carrie Underwood and both of us sat in the second row at Stadium of Fire where she performed.
10.) Josh graduated from Brigham Young University FINALLY with a Bachelors in Nutritional Science!!
11.) We were able to spend a fun filled week at the Cabin in Montana with Kassi's family where we both parasailed for the first time. Josh also got up on a wake-board and the surf board.
12.) We both got our fishing licenses and Kassi went fly fishing for the first time. She didn't catch anything but leaves.
13.)We attended the wedding of Josh's brother JJ and welcomed Lynn as the new addition to the family.
14.) We moved ALL THE WAY TO OREM to be closer to Kassi's work. We LOVE our new apartment and feel all proud that we upgraded to a whopping 1000 square feet! We have had so much fun being able to decorate on REAL walls although we miss our gas stove.
14.) We got to spend Conference with Kassi's mom and grandparents and were thankful to be near them when Grandpa had his stroke.
16.) We got our first new bed set for Christmas (early) from Mom and Craig and we absolutely love it!
17.) Kassi was called as Visiting teaching supervisor, was released two months later and re-called as the Secretary in the Primary Presidency. She was a little intimidated but very excited to get to work with the children in the ward.
18.) Josh was called as a Webelos leader which we think is a perfect fit for him!
19.) Kassi was let go from her job of two years one week before Christmas vacation.
20.) We spent the Christmas holidays with Kassi's Dad and Step-mom for the first time since we have been married. We were thrilled to have all of Kassi's siblings together and had a lot of fun catching up, hanging out, playing games, eating, sledding behind the truck, family pictures and throwing up.
Here is one photo until I can get more.

21.) Everyone got the flue at Christmas. There was at least one person sick the whole time. (Kassi thankfully never got it).
22.) Kassi got her first small taste of motherhood when she watched her nephew one night for Dani and Jordan. She actually loved it even when she was thrown up on (ha!) and was able to sleep through the cooing. Josh on the other hand was not.
23.) Kassi found a job almost one week after returning from Christmas vacation and already likes it better than her old one. What we thought was bad timing ended up being a blessing in disguise. She now works more hours in less days for equal pay and is enjoying having Fridays off! When one door closes....
24.) We both found a new obsession for chess and Kassi FINALLY figured out how to play it.
25.) Kassi beat Josh at checkers! (Why is this a big deal you may ask? See older posts for details).
26.) We were both able to witness a miracle vicariously through Kassi's Dad. Kassi's step-brother Cody was hit by a drunk driver in a one ton truck while walking home from a friends house on New Years Eve. His only kidney was saved by his lap-top in his backpack and he left the hospital almost one week later. He has a very long recovery but is doing well and does not have any permanant damage. We are thankful that Cody was blessed

If there is anything we have learned this year it is to have Gratitude. We are so thankful to our wonderful families for their strength and examples. The Lord has blessed Josh and I through so many things this year and we are thankful for all of those experiences that have made us stronger and closer as a family. We hope this new year will be even better than the last as we strive to live every day in the spirit if gratitude.
Our motto: "Tis neither good nor bad; but thinking makes it so!"

Happy two*thousand*eleven!!
